Happy 7 months Simon!!!

Simon is 7 months old!!!...Well, in an hour or so. He has some new tricks: holding his bowel movements for a few days, sleeping for 10 hours at night, and sitting up! Simon sits! Isn't this the most precious face?! The kid is just beautiful. Today was his first time sitting in a shopping cart like a big boy. He was so interested in everything around him. Precious, precious, precious.

Oh for joy!!!

Do you see how happy he is?! He recently began "real" solid food and had carrots and what a joyful discovery. He knew we were holding back with that rice cereal garbage and his sneaking suspicions were confirmed. Little does he know we're still holding out on him...sugar, ice cream, the fruits...there's a whole world of nummies out there waiting to be discovered.

Simon in a Bag

We couldn't decide what to have for dinner one night so we went to the store to look for the tastiest, yummiest, most scrumptious thing we could find and wa-la!!! Found this tasty little morsel. Precious isn't he?! So we brought him home and devoured him...aka smothered him in kisses. =)We also went camping recently with some friends and Simon has proven himself to be a true outdoors man. Congratulations little one...you are ready for "Survivorman".

Yeah, I know I know (calling me out on it, huh Nat? :)). I still want to take the blog private and have not yet. I recently went to where I used to work, and shared my blog w/ others I haven't seen for awhile, so want to give them a chance to send me their emails if they want access (as I forgot to tell them about it then). My baby is now 6 months old!!!! I can't believe it!

Baby Simon likes:

- the ceiling fan is still number one

- grabbing his toes

- mommy milk

- loves the alphabet song

- LOVES to stand up....can hardly stand to be on this back or sitting now

- toys, especially raddles and his standing up leap frog bench that teaches the alphabet, numbers, etc, has music, and does English and Spanish

- loves to play with daddy

- loves to look in the mirror

- enjoys being read to, and is always trying to grab the book

Other Simon facts:

- we tried to start solids, rice cereal, yesterday---not such a fan

- just grew out of size 1 diapers, so is completely on size 2 (pampers are still the best!)

- He weighs 15 lbs (15%), is 24 1/4 in (yeah....not even on the chart yet for heigth...my little shrimp :), and I forgot the cm's of his head circumference, but he's in the 45%! So Matt says he's going to be short and smart (b/c of his big head....it's so cute). He says we'd better teach him to play soccer b/c basketsball and football are most likely out of the question. :)

- he still wears some of his 3 mo. clothes, but is still mostly in 3-6 months clothing.

- he can sit in the tripod assisted....still not alone

- gets tummy time everyday, but not his favorite thing for a long time. He is starting to move around a lot more on the floor though.

- used to sleep through the night......but has digressed and has been getting up once in the middle of the night (combination of schedule off from going out of town for 2 weeks, teething, and having a fever for a little bit).

Presidents and Risky Business

Okay, okay, I know I still need to catch up.....but can't yet. However, for your viewing pleasure here are a few pictures of Simon in "Risky Business" (thanks to Aunt Nat for the idea, the white shirt, and the mini sunglasses). This child is so adorable!!!!!

I do have a question though! Does anyone know the song that helps you memorize all of the presidents of the USA in order? I'd really like to learn it, or find out where to get it. I constantly sing Simon the alphabet in English and Spanish, daily we sing the song Nat and I learned growing up of the states in the US in alphabetical order, we sing the songs of the books of the scriptures to learn the order they are in(the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Book of Mormon), and we sing the song of the presidents of the church (the prophets of this dispensation) in order. So, I'd feel complete if I could also teach him all of the U.S. presidents. I cannot even recall who it was that once told me there was such a song and they used to sing it growing up. Can anyone help?

Play Catch Up

Busy month! I've been out of town for several weeks, and got back the middle of last week. Then, my little son got sick, and has not felt well for several days, but I think is finally getting over it. So, goal today is to update, tell about when I'll take the blog private (since I obviously didn't do it the beginning of Aug. as I had planned to), tell about my trip to New Mexico and to Ohio. Oh, and about Simon being ill (his first time being sick--he's an adorable little patient). Okay, so I hope I can catch up today. We'll see. Keep fingers crossed for me!
